Where To Go From Here?

Well, now that I’ve reached the ever elusive 100 lb mark, the question that keeps popping up in my head is “Where do I go from here?” My journey isn’t over by any means but for a year and half I have lived a breathed 225! 225! Now that I’m here I feel kinda lost.

For instance, I woke up this morning, weighed and there I was sitting at 225.4. I lost the few pounds I gained at my sisters wedding which would normally make me extremely happy but the feeling was different. Afterall, I had already reached 225. So the excitement was gone. I guess without this huge weight goal sitting out there my motivation has changed a little.

So what I’ve decided to do is create a list of new goals to keep me motivated. They will be different than before because they won’t be focused around a particular “weight” but fitness achievements. For example, I would like to be able to run a 7 minute mile (right now I’m at 7.55). To to do this I will need to train a very specific way cause trust me, jogging won’t help.

These new goals will get my mind off of what I weigh and more on how I feel or even look. Also, I believe this new mindset is a much more healthy approach to health and fitness. Focusing constantly on your weight will only frustrate you. Sure my weight will change but it will no longer be my focus (as long as it stays below 225 lol)

NEW GOALS

In no particular order:

1. Run a 7 minute mile (consistently)

2. Run a 15 minute or less 2 mile

3. Be under 15% body fat

4. Have what I consider a flat stomach

5. Kick ass and take names (this should be #1)

  1. Heck, yeah, buddy. Nice work. Good to set those new goals for yourself…although, I will say, maintenance can be a challenge unto itself. But that can wait for another day. For now, savor the accomplishment. CONGRATS!
